College Entrance Exams

Many colleges require college entrance exams to measure and compare the student's ability to college-level work with other students from different schools.

College exams are not the only criteria the school looks at for admission. They also look at the student's academic performance, submitted application with essays and recommendations, and the student's outside activities.

However, the college entrance exam is a key measurement; so student should prepare thoroughly so that they can perform well.

There are two major college exams. You must check with your college to see which exam the college requires

Scholastic Assessment Tests: SAT I, II

ACT Tests:

Note that some California Universities require college applicants to test their mathematical skills prior to starting school. Check with your college of choice:

About Advanced Placement

High school students should consider taking and preparing for the Advanced Placement Exams or CLEP tests, if applicable. This allows you to test out of some preliminary college courses that can save you time and money.
