Some people like to use a chore wheel or chart to divide duties, while others prefer the “if you made the mess, you clean it up” approach. Avoid potential clashes by clarifying your preferences and waiting until you can sign a lease with someone who shares your priorities.

Do you like to have guests over on the weekends, or do you prefer to curl up by yourself with a book? Do you have any hobbies or interests you’d like to share with a roommate?
