One of the biggest changes between high school and college is the weird schedules for classes.

You’re no longer going straight from one class to another.

You’ll have downtime between classes that you can use for studying, eating lunch, or hanging out with friends. It’ll be quite a new experience for you.

However, there will still be times when you’ll have back-to-back classes. While that usually won’t be an issue, there will be times when they’re on opposite sides of the college campus from each other. When that’s the case, you’ll want a fast and reliable way to get there, so we’ve put together some of the best modes of transportation that you can use to get to class on time.

Bike

One of the more common options that many college students use is bikes. These are much faster than walking and easy to get onto and off of in a hurry. Plus, we’re willing to bet that you or a family member already own one, so it’ll most likely be free. The only real downside to a bike is you’ll need to find a place to lock it up. Fortunately, most campuses have plenty of bike racks.

Longboard

If you would rather ride to class in style, a longboard would be a better option for you. If you’ve tried a skateboard before and didn’t feel coordinated enough to use it, that won’t be an issue here. Longboards are much easier to ride and are made to glide with ease. That means there will be a lot less pushing on your end. You’ll just have to be careful to stay out of the grass.

E-Scooter

While the last two options are great, you have to power them manually. If you’re tired or have a long distance to go, this can be rough, which is why many people are starting to use electric scooters around campus. There are some things to consider before purchasing an e-scooter since they’re a bit pricey, but once you have one, you’ll never be able to return to the old ways of getting to class.

Bus System

If you go to a large university, you’ll need a better way to travel long distances. That’s when the bus system will come in handy. College buses tend to be much more reliable than normal ones, so you shouldn’t have to worry about them running late. Once you learn the paths and schedules, you’ll be able to use them to get around campus in no time.

Moped

Our final suggestion for a mode of transportation that will help you get to class on time isn’t a car—it’s a moped. While cars are great, finding close parking can be difficult, and lot fees are expensive. On the other hand, mopeds usually have specialized parking right at the front of the lot, and the cost of keeping one on campus is usually a bit lower. Plus, they’re much cheaper to buy initially and more fuel efficient than cars, both of which will save you some cash.
