    If you go into the world of journalism, you have to chase the story whenever and wherever it happens. This can take you all over the world. The hours can be crazy, though. A journalist is never off duty. When something happens, you have to go. You also have to get there before anyone else. Finally, you have to write the story in a compelling way. If you are a competitive person, enjoy correcting typos, and love keeping up with current events, journalism could be in your future.


    If you’re looking for a fast-paced environment with a lot of reward at the end of the day, nursing may be the major for you. Hospitals and doctors’ offices are full of excitement every day.

    It will bring you to tears sometimes, but it will also show you just how wonderful the world can be, too. And the hours certainly aren’t your typical 9—5 if you work at a hospital.

    Film Making

    Movies give us the opportunity to tell stories in a vivid way. It gives film makers the opportunity to tell the story the way they want people to experience it.

    There’s a lot that goes into film making that will keep you busy. You may be on the set for sixteen hours at a time. You also might get the opportunity to work with great people and travel the world as well.

    There are a lot of ways to get involved in film. You can be a screen writer, director, actor, or producer. Whatever area you choose to go in, nothing will fill you with more pride than seeing your project come to life on the big screen.

    Marine Biology

    We know more about space than we know about the bottom of the ocean. Help explore that uncharted territory and care for our oceans by getting a degree in marine biology. You will get the opportunity to learn about the unique ecosystem that is our ocean and how it affects all of the other ecosystems in the world. In a time when pollution is high, you can be part of the solution instead of the problem.

    If you are someone who loves to travel, becoming a pilot could be a good option for you. You don’t have to go to a traditional college in order to receive flight training. There may even be several options in your area to become certified. This is a job that will never be boring and can allow you to explore new countries while working.
