  • Everyone goes on vacations with family or friends every summer.

It’s the best way to get away from everyday life and enjoy a little more of this beautiful planet we live on.

But not all of us are into cruises, couples retreats, or beaches, so for some people flying halfway across the country with their college buddies is the way to enjoy a carefree summer.

    Iceland

Iceland is a place of wonder, a spot where you can take in the vastness of nature and feel as though you could be the only person in the world. It’s a place to recharge and remember that we’re all just travelers on this planet, doing our best to make it through life.

The landscape is unique enough that you’ll always feel like there’s more to explore but safe enough that you won’t have to worry about encountering anything dangerous or unpleasant. If you’re new to traveling, Iceland is one of the safest countries to begin your adventures in.

The waterfalls are some of the most beautiful in the world, and they’re easy to get to because they’re scattered all over the country. It’s a perfect environment for wandering around and taking photos—there are waterfalls everywhere.

The pools of water flow in to look so inviting, but be careful: they’re extremely cold.

    Gatlinburg

Gatlinburg is a great place to go with your college friends. It’s a wonderful place that gives you the feeling of being in the country while also having many activities to keep you busy on vacation.

Many people may overlook Gatlinburg because of its small size and quaint charm, but this town has more to offer than meets the eye. There is something for everyone and plenty of things to do.

Just an hour from Knoxville, Tennessee, Gatlinburg is surrounded by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Here you can enjoy hiking through the many trails or just taking a leisurely stroll.

You can also visit the park’s famous waterfalls, which are accessible from several of the trails. For those who aren’t as enthusiastic about hiking, there are still plenty of other activities to keep you busy.

The town itself has many attractions, including miniature golf courses, Ripley’s Aquarium, ghost tours, and much more. For lodging, you can stay in any of the fabulous Gatlinburg cabin rentals.

    California Coast

Who doesn’t like to start off their summer with a little trip? If you are looking for a place that is fun, relaxing, and affordable, California’s great coast is the place for you.

From San Francisco to Los Angeles, there is something for everyone. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy, even if you only have a few days.

Let’s begin inSan Francisco. It might be one of the more expensive places in California, but it has so much to offer that it’s worth every penny.

The most favorite part of San Francisco for many people is the Golden Gate Bridge and the view from Crissy Field. It’s beautiful during the day but breathtaking at night when the lights on the bridge turn on.

You can rent bikes and go to Sausalito for lunch. It’s about seven miles roundtrip and usually takes about an hour and a half (depending on how many times you stop).

The windy roads are a little intense for beginners, but it’s really fun. You can catch a ferry back from Sausalito to SFO if your legs need a rest after riding all those hills.

    Mexico City

Mexico City is one of the most vibrant cities in the world, with an endless list of things to explore. There are so many beautiful landmarks like the Zocalo and Teotihuacan, and museums galore like the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the National Museum of Anthropology.

Whether you’re interested in history or art, you’ll have plenty to do with your college friends—and if you’re more of a foodie, Mexico City has you covered.

The city’s food scene is one of its biggest draws, with everything from traditional street tacos to some of the best contemporary cuisine in the country.

And don’t forget about the nightlife. You’ll find a ton of great bars and clubs in Mexico City, from fancy rooftop joints to dive bars that play live music. If you want to take a day trip outside of town, visit Xochimilco for its beautiful canals and boat rides.

Greece is the ultimate summer vacation spot. The country has thousands of islands, all with their own unique beach scenes and bustling nightlife.

Whether you’re looking for loud, party-filled bars or quiet, tranquil beaches, Greece will have an island for you and your friends. Some popular destinations include Mykonos and Santorini.

Mykonos is known for its cosmopolitan lifestyle, beautiful beaches, and warm hospitality. Santorini also has a great nightlife scene as well as breathtaking views from the top of the island’s steep cliffs.

While any of the above destinations could be a good choice for you and your college friends, this list at least gives you some good places to start looking. Remember that quality time with your closest friends is just as important as the trip itself.

So choose a location that suits your friends and invites quality time, not quantity time.
